SES-Tech was founded in 2011 by China State Shipbuilding
Cooperation (CSSC) and a research team originated from Cambridge
University, and received the second-round financing support from
China Power Investment Financial Leasing Ltd in 2020. SES-Tech
focuses on integration of power systems and design of customized
frequency converters in marine business. Our references have
covered the applications in research vessels, engineering
vessels, ferries, passenger liners, bulk cargo carriers, and
fishing boats during the past several years.
SES-Tech has applied 95 patents,in which 30 utility models and 15 inventions are
patented.With these intellectual properties protected, SES-Tech joined
in several national research programs from Ministry of
Industry and Information Technology and Ministry of Science
and Technology, responsible for power system integration and
development of frequency converters.

At the beginning of 2016, SES-Tech started developing the
common DC grid solution in marine business, via the technology
transfer from E-MS, who is the leading company with more than
50 references employing common DC grid solutions. The research
vessel ‘Shen Kuo’ is the first vessel equipped with the common
DC grid system in China. So far, 4 different topologies have
been proposed, including
S-DE, S-Hybrid, S-Shaft, and S-Renewable and
equipped in more than 160 vessels.
The series power modules that are type approved by CCS, BV
and RINA have been widely used in different vessels
worldwide. SES-Tech has a research center, as well as a
factory and test center in WuXi.
