A few days ago, the series hybrid power (diesel mechanical/electric) system for the 15000 DWT Oil Prod and Chem. Tank finished the FAT, and certified by BV classification .
Due to COVID 19, the ship owner and the shipyard were involved in the FAT both on site and via cloud simultaneously. Sitting in his Sweden office, Mr Lundin, the project manager of Terntank, took part in the whole FAT procedure and monitored remotely the operation, function test and HMI display of the E-PP system, without the need of travelling to China. “I am glad to see that the whole system works fine remotely”, commented by Mr Lundin.
The chemical tanker is designed to integrate a 1000 kW in-line shaft machine and a set of 424 kWh battery. The common DC solution (‘E-PP’) is adopted due to its high flexibility and compatibility with AC and DC consumers. The shaft machine can work both as a motor (PTH) and a generator (PTO), while the battery set has the function of black-out recovery, peak shaving and spring reverse. The E-PP is certified by BV.
The E-PP is co-designed by SES-Tech and E-MS, and manufactured by SES-Tech. E-MS will provide after-sale service in Europe.
It is the first time that SES-Tech provides the common DC grid products overseas. The renewable energy power system made in China has become to be truth.
