The CTV Xiongcheng Tianwei 1 , designed to be twin-hull structure, 49.9 m long, and 600 t displacement, is configured with four 120 kW diesel generator sets, two 1572 kW azimuth thrusters, two 400 kW bow thrusters, and two 570 kW power supply for the gangway. Loads of cutting-edge technologies are applied in the CTV, such as the gangway with first six degrees of freedom, the common-DC grid power system, and the DP-2 system. The vessel was delivered to the client in 2020 to serve off-shore wind farms.
SES-Tech supplied the whole power pack, including the S-DE system, diesel generator sets, thrusters, dynamical positioning system, switch board, and alarm monitoring system. During the sea trial, S-DE demonstrated highly reliable operation and extremely dynamical performance. ‘The S-DE system is an integrated solution that significantly saves size and heavyweight of the equipment. Moreover, thanks to the innovative power management system, the S-DE demonstrates high dynamic performance to guarantee DP-2 operation’, claimed by Mr Zhang, who is the CEO of Shanghai Xiongcheng Ocean Engineering Company Limited.
