The chemical tanker is 147 m long and 22 m wide, certified by BV. The S-hybrid-R system with a structure of common DC gird topology, is supplied by a 1000 kW in-line shaft machine to be operated in the PTO mode or PTH mode. A 424 kWh battery is also connected to the DC-link for peak shaving and black-out recovery. The whole system is scheduled to be delivered to the ship yard in early 2021.
The S-Hybrid-R system is co-designed by SES-Tech and E-MS, and manufactured by SES-Tech. E-MS will provide after-sale service in Europe. It is the first time that SES-Tech provides the common DC grid products overseas.
